Software Developer Lands High-Paying Job After Coaching

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Austin, Texas (March 22, 2016) – A software developer in Minnesota has landed a new, high-paying job after his coaching session with Steven Fies, President & CEO of ThinkPlanLaunch. Like many millennials, he had previously struggled to find a great job that matched his abilities.

In fact, he was working in an entirely different field prior to his coaching with Fies.

“You really motivated me after our (coaching session) about how I seemed well-suited to a career in programming…I’m now a full-stack dev at a healthcare technology company, and earning capital right now to launch a brand of my own,” the software developer told Fies in an email.

He further added, “I really value your support…I sold myself as someone who grew skills out of self-improvement, and ended up with a choice of offers from US Bank and this small tech company. I made the right decision with the smaller company.”

The software developer’s coaching began with ThinkPlanLaunch’s Talent Insights® assessment, which evaluated his behavioral style and intrinsic motivators. The information that surfaced clearly showed a career in programming was a great fit.

Coaching also helped the software developer improve his communication skills and interviewing prowess. He says this helped him establish a relationship with the recruiter who setup his interviews, and more importantly, allowed him to outperform other candidates who applied for the two jobs he was offered.

More on Talent Insights®

Research tells us the most effective people are those who understand themselves, including their strengths and weaknesses, so they can develop strategies to meet the demands of their environment. These are considered behavioral factors.

Additional research tells us successful people are highly motivated. This is intuitive for most people to understand, but it is lesser known that people are not motivated for the same reasons. To perform their best, a person’s work must be in proper alignment with their core motivators.

The Talent Insights® instrument measures four dimensions of normal behavior and twelve driving forces, more commonly referred to as intrinsic motivators, and provides an “instant personal development plan,” with targeted advice for improvement tailored to the respondent’s unique profile.

This lays the foundation for coaching, which is augmented with additional training and development exercises. Positive effects include improved communication, better time management ability, increased motivation, and reduced stress.
