Regional Bank Hires ThinkPlanLaunch to Screen Job Applicants

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Austin, Texas (April 6, 2016) – A Midwest regional bank has hired ThinkPlanLaunch to screen job applicants with its DNA® 25 Competencies assessment, which measures twenty-five personal skills affecting workplace performance. The assessment will allow the bank to hire the right people with increased accuracy.

The bank previously used a similar assessment to screen applicants, but it wasn’t working. According to Steven Fies, President & CEO of ThinkPlanLaunch, this is an unfortunate but common occurrence.

“Many assessment products are not researched or validated for statistical significance. Many are not compliant with EEOC and OFCCP regulations, either, which presents a major legal liability,” Fies said.

“Every company who uses assessments in the workplace is obliged to ensure legal compliance, and should be motivated to verify the accuracy and validity of the assessment products they use,” Fies added.

Fies points to his firm’s partnership with TTI Success Insights, workplace performance giant, as their major competitive advantage over other providers.

“As a certified partner of TTI, we are part of a huge global network…that has served our assessments to 100,000 companies and 30 million individuals over the past three decades. Our assessments are PhD-designed, market-tested, and in full compliance with the law,” he noted.

The bank says the track record of ThinkPlanLaunch’s assessments was a deciding factor in making the switch. They had solicited more competitive bids, but were not convinced those vendors offered the same reliability.

The bank’s head of HR was particularly impressed with two 2015 reliability studies conducted by Delwyn L. Harnisch, Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska. These studies confirmed ThinkPlanLaunch’s assessments are “…a consistent and reliable measure of the scale constructs,” referring to the performance factors measured.

Before using the DNA® 25 Competencies assessment to screen its applicants, the bank will also take ThinkPlanLaunch’s DNA® Job Assessment to create an ideal-candidate profile.

The DNA® Job Assessment asks questions to key decision-makers about the job. TTI’s patented computer algorithm then evaluates their responses and generates a final job profile. The profile includes recommended interview questions.

According to Fies, “The job assessment yields a complete job profile based on objective, measurable performance factors: up to one-hundred factors. We can look at several dimensions of personal skills, behavioral fit, intrinsic motivation, and acumen. This removes bias and allows for an apples-to-apples comparison of applicants to the desired profile.

Fies added, “Our products may not be the least expensive, but they do work.”
