Marketing Executive Boosts Performance After Coaching

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Austin, Texas (August 23, 2015) – The founder of an online marketing firm hired ThinkPlanLaunch to coach him on executive performance earlier this year. He was referred to ThinkPlanLaunch by a mutual friend, after expressing a desire to improve his communication skills, acquire more business, and develop more authentic relationships with his clients.

The founder was given two of ThinkPlanLaunch’s most relevant professional assessments: Talent Insights®, which measures one’s behavioral style and intrinsic motivators, and Emotional Quotient™, which measures five dimensions of emotional intelligence (“EQ”) based on the Goleman model. These dimensions include self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, social skills, and empathy.

Key strengths and weaknesses were discovered during the assessment and debriefing process. Certain scores were in line with the founder’s expectations, but scores in several areas surprised him.

Armed with a heightened awareness of the areas requiring attention, a focused personal development plan was created during the coaching sessions that followed. He has since increased his rate of new client acquisition and is finding more fulfillment in his work.

More on Talent Insights®

Research tells us the most effective people are those who understand themselves, including their strengths and weaknesses, so they can develop strategies to meet the demands of their environment. These are considered behavioral factors.

Additional research tells us successful people are highly motivated. This is intuitive for most people to understand, but it is lesser known that people are not motivated for the same reasons. To perform their best, a person’s work must be in proper alignment with their core motivators.

The Talent Insights® instrument measures four dimensions of normal behavior and twelve driving forces, more commonly referred to as intrinsic motivators, and provides an “instant personal development plan,” with targeted advice for improvement tailored to the respondent’s unique profile. This lays the foundation for coaching, which is augmented with additional training and development exercises.

More on Emotional Quotient™

Research shows 90% of the difference between average and great leaders is EQ. People with high EQ also earn, on average, $29,000.00 per year more than their counterparts with average-to-low EQ. They lead more fulfilling lives, have more rewarding relationships, and reach higher levels of success.

The value of emotional intelligence also increases with job complexity. Entry level employees are only 3X more productive with high EQ, whereas salespeople and mechanics are 12X more productive. Astonishingly, doctors, consultants, and executives are shown to be 127X more productive with high EQ.

According to the Harvard Business Review:

“In hard times, the soft stuff often goes away, but emotional intelligence, it turns out, isn’t so soft. If emotional obliviousness jeopardizes your ability to perform, fend off aggressors, or be compassionate in a crisis, no amount of attention to the bottom line will protect your career. Emotional intelligence isn’t a luxury you can dispense with in tough times. It’s a basic tool that, deployed with finesse, is the key to professional success.”

ThinkPlanLaunch’s Emotional Quotient™ assessment was designed based on Daniel Goleman’s model of EQ. It has been shown to accurately measure all five areas of EQ. Like with the Talent Insights®  instrument, results reports are generated automatically by the assessment software and feature an instant personal development plan.
